Team Time Trial 2006

September was quite an active cycling month. I was away in the US with riding only in the gym but came back to do a few intense rides and finished it off with the ultimate satisfaction of taking part in the TTT 2006. Myself, Vince, Stephh and Mike ride together regularly but we had 1 formal practice ride (during which I had a flat) and decided to turn up for the race.



We were focused on having FUN and we had a lot of it. Mike touched my wheel and crashed but escaped with relatively minor scratches. Vince ran into mike but his bike did not survive the crash too well and he had to stop.



Vince is the engine room of our team and we missed him badly. He has the power and the will to gut it out with the best and pull our team. But we gathered our focus and rode on as we only had 1/2 lap to go after the crash.

We finished as strongly as we could, Vince got back after fixing his bike and we were really happy to be back as a team.



It was a pleasure being part of this team and doing something none of us had ever done before. For the record we finished last but we were as happy as anyone was on that given day!
